This had been sitting waiting to be played properly for weeks & so seemed a good place to start.
The opening track is 19 minutes of wonderful fast flowing piano with some added vocals by producer Peter Broderick. A sort of minimalist piano music that while there are obvious links to the likes of Reich & Glass, are definitely his own style. It's fast & flowing and constantly changing, like looking at a river. A river for the ears? It's not difficult music, anything but really.
Melnyk claims to be the fastest piano player in the world - 93,650 individual notes in an hour!
He calls his style of music "Continuous Music" and his website makes many, perhaps, over the top claims about it all.
(I did try, and eventually succeed, in buying a CD of his "Wave-Lox" album a couple of years ago direct from his website, it was a very long and involved process. It was getting to the stage, almost, of why did I bother.)
